Use 5.4 kernel with Ubuntu 18

In order to use the 5.4 kernel with Ubuntu 18 please run the following command:

apt-get install –install-recommends linux-generic-hwe-18.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04

Now when you reboot your server it will be on the latest 5.4 kernel.
