UK SMEs failing to formalise cloud strategies

2016 has been a huge year for the development and implementation of cloud services. A study carried out by Close Brothers, surveyed almost 1000 small businesses throughout the UK to get a better understanding of their cloud strategy plans. And, according to the research’s conclusions, the vast majority of small and medium businesses either don’t currently have, or have no intention of defining a ratified cloud strategy. The study found that less than a third (29%) of all the small businesses surveyed admitted they had ‘the intention’ of formalising their cloud strategy. Fewer than one in 10 (9%) said they thought it was ‘very important’ to have a strategy, while less than a quarter – 24% – agreed that it was ‘somewhat important’.
